How do I Play?

Ready to go

Register your name, mobile number, and details at You can do that here - Register Account.
The only requirement for your mission is that your mobile device can access the Internet to send and receive messages. You will typically send around 25 messages in order to complete each mission.

In basic terms, each game is a simple Treasure Hunt or Clue Chase.
1. We provide you with a starting Point, a starting clue and a course to travel around and a finishing point. Depending on the elapsed time that you spend on the course, we allocate points which will give you increasing Status on the Leaderboards and qualify you for more challenging games.
2. You can play as a team, a family group, or groups playing against your friends or other groups at the same time. Every player or group of player's mission is unique (the system has an inbuilt Randomiser, which means you won't all get the same clues.
3. NOTE: Most of our games are LOCATION GAMES, which means they can only be answered near each clue position!

Find a mission near you. There's a mission in many capital cities and some regional centres. Location Missions can take up to four hours to complete and will finish anywhere within a ten kilometre radius of the starting point. Most Level 1 missions are around 4 - 5km.
You don't need a car to complete the mission. In fact, you're better off on foot.

Level 2, online and higher missions have a whole new universe of complexity, but these rules apply to all level 1 games (this message refers).

Print out the mission page for the game you're on. It'll contain extra information that you might need to help you complete the mission.

Travel to the mission's starting point. This is a real mission in real time. You must actually be standing in the starting point before you START your game.

Again, there are higher level games where this won't apply, but for all games at level 1, YOU MUST BE AT THE SPECIFIED STARTING POINT FOR THE GAME, BEFORE YOU SEND THE START MESSAGE!

You're at the Stating Point. Press the START button on the device! Within moments of sending the START message you will receive the first clue for your mission.
You'll notice when you get your clues, there are some numbers in brackets after the clue. In Crossword style, we're showing you how many words and letters are in the answer. Make sure you have the correct number of WORDS and the correct number of LETTERS or NUMBERS in each word.

For example, (3,5,3) is three words, with 3 letters, 5 letters and 3 letters in that order. The answer here would be The Black Cat.

There are around 25 clues to solve in a treasure hunt that will find you searching your city - and your mind - for the answers.

It's that easy! Have Fun! Questions? Email us at!

How Do Points Work?

Types of Game

The Global Game (TGG) has four types of game:

1. The "Get out There and See Your World" or "Ongoing" games are long-running games, with a number of different courses and legs, so you can play them a number of times with or against friends and you'll get a somewhat different experience each time. These are out Level 1 or Basic games.

Note though: You'll only get Status (Winning) points the first time you play this game and those points are determined by how long it took you to complete all the tasks. So they are intended as training, fun or "Friendly" missions to be played with friends.

There is usually a recommended time for completing the game, once you’ve started, and this will be clearly identified on the game description page, along with any other relevant information.

2. The second game is a "Special Theme" type. This game has normally a set time to complete once you’ve started and once finished, will not be repeated.

Again, the set time for completing the game, along with any other relevant information and game rules will be clearly identified on the game description page. For this type of game, you'll get points depending on where you finish against the other players in the game.

3. The "make your own" game. As it suggests this is a game that you make up from existing clues in a particular location. Say you're in London for example and you want to do something fun for the afternoon. You can setup a game for yourself, invite others to play by Twitter, Facebook or other social media site and then play the game with those newly acquired friends. We call this the Global Game Community at work 🙂 If these games are particularly fun, adventurous or challenging, we may then make them permanent ongoing games.

4. The Higher Level Games. These are permanent games, but they will be themed, difficult, have many clues or be lengthy or span a number of countries or areas. You will ideally have reached a higher level of status than beginner before you try one of these.

Point Scoring - See the Points Summary page for a quick points overview!

1. Each game rewards points to all those who have played and completed all of the tasks in that game.

When a new game is developed, TGG determines the type of game, the allowed time for the game, the overall time of the game, the maximum number of players that will be accepted for that game, and how many points will be awarded for those who finish in first place, second place, and so on.

The greatest amount of points are awarded to the player who finished first, with second place receiving slightly less, third place receiving less than that, and so on through to tenth place.

After tenth place, all players receive some points if they completed the game before game time ends, and nominal points if they completed the game after it ends. Each game has two time periods; the published game time (say 2 days) and the overrun time (usually 7 days after the game). In the case of the on-going games, there is no overrun time.

Players who registered for the game but did not finish within the overrun time of play will not receive any points.

Points are awarded to the "Ongoing Games" players based on an aggregate time taken to complete all legs (determined by TGG's estimated completion times) and for the "Special Theme" games, points are awarded based on overall standings, once all players have completed the game, or the overrun time has completed. Leaderboards are posted on the web-site, showing the place of all players, based on aggregate times, with a final standings being available after completion of play.

2. For Level 1 games, the reward points are fixed, but for other games, the number of points available to win in eany game is in proportion to the number of people who have registered to play. The more players competing, the higher the amount of points to be won.

For example, if a new game has a limit of 200 players, TGG may decide that the award for first place will be 100 points, second place will be 90 points, and so on. However, if only 100 players register for the game, the award for first place may drop to 80 points, second place may be 70, and so on. This ensures that the distribution of points corresponds with the level of competition, and will entice players to encourage others to play.

Players can visit the game page regularly to see what the registrations/points are up to.

3. Points are used to determine status in the gaming community, and to purchase / redeem items from the TGG gaming vault.

Upon logging on to the website, you will have access to your own personal account page, which lists three sets of points:
o Status Points: the number of points you have accumulated since you started playing.
o Game Points: the number of points you have available to use in the TGG vault.
o Games Played Points: the number of games you have played.

Note: a player never loses his status points. When you use your points in the TGG vault to redeem items, the points will be deducted from your Game Points.
o For example, a player has accumulated 300 Game points and 30 Status points through various games. On his personal page his Status points will be 30 and Game Points will be at 300. He visits the TGG Vault and uses 120 points to purchase an item. On his main page (and on the Leaderboards) his Status Points will still read 30 points but his Gamer Points will now read 180.

When a player reaches a certain number of Status Points, he is promoted to a new level of game play. Each new level will have more challenging games with a higher number of points up for grabs. There are currently five levels in total.

The nominal level one award points structure per level 1 game is as follows:
o First place 80
o 2nd 70
o 3rd 64
o 4th 60
o 5th 56
o 6th 52
o 7th 48
o 8th 44
o 9th 40
o 10th 36
o Finish 16 (if the player finished within game time period)
o Finish 6 (if the player finished at all, during the overrun time period)
o DNF 0 (did not finish, no points)

The Winner will get one Status point and all players will get a Games Played point.

Points are also allocated for making and verifying Clues and making Games - see the Points Summary page for details.

The award points for Level 2 to Level 5 games depend on the game and will be published on the game information page, along with the rules of the game.

What is the Global Game?

The Global Game (TGG) is an interactive challenge played using various interactive communication methods, including mobile device, internet, telephone and live interaction, supported through TGG Global Community. The game pits you against other players as you race to complete a series of challenging questions and tasks to finish the game.

Registration for each new game will be announced on, Facebook and Twitter. Registered members of the website can also choose to have new game details emailed or tedxted to them as they are announced.

There are a number of different types of game.

The Ongoing game, which is available to be played at any time. A player recieves points depending on how good their time is compared with other players. A player can play the game again and again (so you'll get a better time each time you play!), but you'll only get status points the first time. This game you can play whenever you feel like by simply logging into Mission Control and selecting any one of the permanent games there. All the details of the game will be on the Game description page.

The Fixed Time game. Each game has a set amount of players allowed and you will need to register for this one. When the game becomes full or when the registration period ends members will no longer be able to register for that particular game. The game then begins with all registered players starting from the same point. You will have a fixed time limit to complete the game and you'll get points based on the position you come in.

The Monthly City game. These games are set in various Capital cities, typically every three months. You'll need to register for this one, then the game then begins with all registered players starting from the same point. You will have a fixed time limit to complete the game and you'll get points based on the position you come in. This one has prizes for the first past the post, to assist you to get to another Monthly game.

How often games begin and how many occur at once is up to the discretion of TGG.

Very Easy:
1.There are a number of tasks from start to finish, with things to be experienced along the way.

2. When you start the game, you will receive a question via your handheld.  Somewhere around you is the answer to the task.  Reply with the answer.  Some of the tasks will be simple questions, while others may require you to venture out to various locations for the answer.

3. When you answer correctly, you will receive the next task.

4. That's it!  Look up each game's brief page for more information.

Note: Some games will have a game time which will be determined prior to the game starting. In more complex games, the duration of the game will be at the discretion of the organizer (TGG).  Should game time expire before a player completes the game, they will receive a message noting that the game has ended. A grace period, the overrun time is allowed for each game, to allow slower or beginning players to chance to complete the gaming experience. Some games also run continuously, allowing junior players to build up experience and points, while learning how the system works.

Each player is awarded points based on their standing or time taken when the game finishes. The first placed player receives the maximum amount of points, while the second placed player will earn a lesser amount of points, and so on. Those players who finish, but did not complete the game in time will all receive a set amount of points for participating. Standings are computed from the amount of time each layer takes to complete a leg of the course.

At the completion of each game, the standings are published on the Global Game website, noting how each player placed and the time it took them to complete the game.

As points are accumulated through each game, they are stored in each player’s account, similar to frequent flyer miles. The points can be redeemed for a variety of products on the TGG gaming vault. When you make a purchase from the TGG vault, the points are deducted from your total.

There are milestones that improve a player’s status as they accumulate points. For example, once a player reaches a certain number of points they will achieve level 2 status. Try to get enough points to make you a “Level 5 Master”.

Prizes range from a song downloads to more exciting prizes like an ipod, phone handsets, cameras or all expense paid trips. Prizes are donated by Sponsors and vary according to the level and number of games being played.

Check the Global Game Vault for the current selection of prizes and incentives.

All the best in The Global Game.

Rules Of Play

The Global Game – official rules of play

The Global Game missions, games and any entertainment to be found on this site is available for participation by any person over the age of 18, or younger if approved by a responsible adult. The playing or involvement in any of The GLobal Games' missions must be in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and shall be construed according to, and governed exclusively by, Australian law. Do not participate in the Games if you do not fall within the eligibility requirements or do not agree with the site conditions.

GAME DESCRIPTION: The Games are a competition where players play the role of an agent using clues from The Global Game (TGG) website – (The Website) - to search various locales around selected Cities, the Internet, and other devices for answers to various questions. Each agent will begin the game at a specified location and by correctly answering a series questions will complete the Game, ending up at a final location. The Game clues and answers are communicated to and from Mission Control via mobile telephone SMS texts or direct Website access. Agent names and dossiers will be posted from time to time on the Game's online leader board (the Leader Board).

ELIGIBILITY: Only players who are registered at the Website and eighteen (18) years of age or older are eligible to play. Juniors, from 12 to 18, may enter the Games and register on the TGG website, only if accompanied or sponsored by a parent or guardian. Juniors under 12 are ineligible to play.

HOW TO PLAY: To play, visit the Website -- -- and complete the agent registration form with the information requested. All of the requested information must be completed in order to participate in TGG. Once a player successfully registers at the Website, he or she can play any of the current Games, starting at the starting location in each city and follow the game play and clue instructions sent to the players via SMS to search for answers. Each correctly answered clue will lead to another clue. Once all questions have been successfully answered, the agent will have an elapsed time which will be entered onto the Leader Board position for that game and onto the Agent’s personal Dossier. Players can start playing at any time during the Game Period, depending on the rules of the game. Agents who join the Game at the very beginning will have a chance to play more cities and therefore have a greater chance to gain points. Questions must be answered in the order given. A player's time at the end of the Game will be used to determine such player's position, if any, on the Leader Board for the Game played. The Leader Board will list those players with the fastest times. Depending on the type of game and the elapsed time taken, Status or User points may be earned.

COSTS OF THE GAME: Most Games have no entry or registration cost to play and have no entry costs for any section of the game. The Game communication to and from Mission Control may be via SMS and you may be charged by your supplier. The player understands that he/she may be charged during the Game. If you will not accept these charges from your telecom Services Provider then do not play this game.

PRIVACY: In addition to the information included in an agent's profile and/or dossier and other registration information, the Game mechanic will dynamically use codes and other tracking data to monitor the navigational information relating to the agent. In addition, throughout the Game Period, agent names and dossiers will be posted from time to time on the Game's online Leader Board, and each person who registers as an agent hereby consents to such postings. Except as otherwise contemplated in these Official Rules, information collected in connection with the Game will be used in accordance with the Website's privacy policy. The Website's Terms of Use Policy governs agent conduct on the Website, and in particular, community dialogue, galleries and chat room features on the Website are addressed in the Terms of Use Policy.

GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS: Should a game have prizes for winners, each prize winner shall be solely responsible for all federal, state and/or local taxes, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other fees or costs associated with the applicable prize. Any Winners will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and (where legal) a Publicity Release (collectively, The Prize Claim Documents). If a winner is not of legal age of majority in his or her state of residence (a "minor"), at The Promoter's option, applicable prize either will be awarded in the name of parent or legal guardian of winner, or parent or legal guardian of winner will be required to ratify and sign the Prize Claim Documents. If a winner (or such winner's parent or legal guardian) fails or refuses to sign and return all the Prize Claim Documents within seven (7) days of prize notification, or a shorter time if required by exigencies, the winner may be disqualified and the player with the next best time on the applicable Leader Board may be selected. Any winner's travel companion must sign a Liability Release prior to ticketing.

GENERAL RELEASE: Acceptance of a prize constitutes winner's permission for The Promoter to use winner's name, photograph, likeness, voice, biographical information, statements and address (city and state) for advertising and/or publicity purposes worldwide and in all forms of media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity, without further compensation, except where legally prohibited. Players (or if minors, their parents or legal guardians) agree that the Game Entities and their respective officers, directors and employees (A) shall not be responsible or liable for any losses, damages or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in the Game or any Game-related activity, or from players' acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of any prize, and (B) HAVE NOT MADE AND HEREBY DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION OR GUARANTEE EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, WITH RESPECT TO ANY PRIZE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, TO SUCH PRIZE'S MERCHANTABILITY OR QUALITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. If the Game is terminated before the designated end date, The Promoter will (if possible) select winners based on the fastest times for completed courses as of the date of the event giving rise to the termination. These Official Rules cannot be modified or amended in any way except in a written document issued in accordance with law by a duly authorized representative of The Promoter. Judgment upon the award of the arbitrator may be entered or enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction. If either party fails to appear at the hearing on the date designated in accordance with the rules of the ACC, or shall otherwise fail to participate in the arbitration proceeding, the arbitrator is hereby empowered to proceed ex parte. If you do not agree to these requirements, do not participate in the Game.
